Grand Theft Auto VI has passed three quarters of a billion dollars in pre-order revenue, according to the analytics firm Sensor Tower. Its public GTA VI sales tracker, which we read directly on November 4, 2026, now shows an estimated $751 million in net revenue from 7.71 million copies, with the data last updated on November 3. PlayStation 5 accounts for 74% of those sales and Xbox Series X|S for 26%.

These are estimates, not figures from Rockstar or Take-Two, and neither company has published a pre-order number. But the tracker is the same one that produced the $630 million estimate we reported on October 21, so the direction of travel is clear: roughly $120 million and 1.26 million copies added in about two weeks, with launch still 15 days away.

What Sensor Tower's tracker shows

The tracker is updated weekly and covers PlayStation and Xbox. As of its November 3 update:

  • Revenue, net of returns: $751 million in total, split $559 million on PlayStation 5 and $192 million on Xbox Series X|S.
  • Units sold: 7.71 million in total, split 5.74 million on PS5 and 1.97 million on Xbox.
  • Platform mix: 74% PlayStation, 26% Xbox, unchanged from the split Sensor Tower reported in mid-October.

Sensor Tower described the tracker in July as a model of digital storefront sales. Code-in-box physical copies sold through retailers are not the same thing, and the game has no disc edition, so the real total of people who have paid for GTA VI is likely higher than the tracker's figure.

GamesRadar+ ran the new numbers on November 4, noting that only Rockstar knows where the game actually sits. That is the right caveat. Sensor Tower's estimates have been consistent with each other from week to week, but nobody outside Rockstar and the platform holders has seen the real ledger.

The arithmetic behind the average price

Dividing $751 million by 7.71 million copies gives an average of about $97 per copy. That is our calculation, not Sensor Tower's, but it fits what Take-Two has said in public. The Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition $99.99, and an average that close to the top price means the Ultimate Edition is doing most of the volume. Take-Two chief executive Strauss Zelnick has said the $100 edition is outselling the cheaper one, and analyst estimates relayed by GamesRadar+ have put the Ultimate share as high as 90%.

For comparison, Sensor Tower's own blog puts GTA V's 2013 pre-orders at around 7 million. If the tracker is close to right, GTA VI's digital pre-orders alone have now passed that total before launch, at a price point roughly $20 higher.

What Xbox says about the split

The 74% PS5 share has been a sore point for Microsoft since The Verge reported in September that pre-orders were heavily skewed toward PlayStation. Xbox's Matthew Ball replied to that report on X: "We are very happy with GTA VI pre-orders. The title is breaking records for Xbox, we expect even more records will be broken throughout the fall, and our internal analysis shows our share of pre-orders to be matching our share of the console market."

Circana analyst Mat Piscatella's response on Bluesky was drier: "Given what the Xbox share of the console market is, not sure I'd be gushing about anything related to a relative split but that's just me." Sensor Tower's 26% is in line with Ball's framing, since Xbox's share of the current-generation console base is in that region, but neither Microsoft nor Sony has released its own pre-order figure.

When we might get real numbers

The first chance of an official figure is Monday, November 9, when Take-Two reports its second-quarter results after the US market closes. Zelnick usually declines to give pre-order numbers, but with pre-loading starting the next day and launch ten days later, analysts on the call will ask. We have a separate explainer on what to expect from the earnings call.

Until then, the Sensor Tower tracker is the best public measure there is. It is an estimate, it covers digital sales only, and it is updated once a week. On those terms, $751 million is where GTA VI stands with 15 days to go.
