GTA 6 Day One Guide

Updated July 21, 2026 Updates the moment Rockstar confirms preload details.

November 19 is a Thursday. The people playing at 00:01 sorted their edition, storage and preload in advance — this page is that sorted list, kept current as Rockstar confirms each detail.

The checklist

  1. 1

    Pick your edition Actionable now

Standard $80 or Ultimate $100 — both include the Vintage Vice City Pack pre-order bonus. Only these two editions exist; anything else is a scam.

  2. 2

    Pre-order (live now) Actionable now

PlayStation Store, Xbox Store and major retailers, since June 25.

  3. 3

Clear storage ahead of preload Waiting on Rockstar

No official file size yet — estimates run large (this is the biggest GTA ever made). Free up console space before November; we track the reported numbers below.

  4. 4

Preload the moment it opens Waiting on Rockstar

Reported to open around November 12 — not yet official. The instant Rockstar confirms the window, this row updates and it posts to X.

  5. 5

Book November 19 Waiting on Rockstar

Thursday. You know what to do.

Day One FAQ

When can I preload GTA 6?

Not officially announced. Retailer and platform reporting points to roughly a week before launch (around November 12) — treat that as reported, not confirmed. This page updates the moment Rockstar sets the window.

Which GTA 6 edition should I buy?

Standard ($80) is the base game; Ultimate ($100) adds a premium collection of vehicles, weapons and apparel across Jason and Lucia’s story, plus personalized variants of Jason’s Girardi ES9 and Lucia’s Klose K17 pistols. Every pre-order of either edition includes the Vintage Vice City Pack.

Is GTA 6 on PC or last-gen consoles at launch?

No. Launch platforms are PS5 (including PS5 Pro) and Xbox Series X|S only. A PC version is widely expected later but unconfirmed — we track it on the Rumor Tracker.
