Miami's Wynwood Walls museum is now free to enter for every Miami-Dade County resident, and the museum says Rockstar Games is the reason. The museum's own website, read on October 18, 2026, carries a "Free for Locals, presented by Rockstar Games" banner and states that residents can visit free of charge until 2028. Local reports put the start of the offer at Tuesday, October 13.
Rockstar itself has not posted about the partnership on the Newswire or its social accounts. Everything in this article comes from Wynwood Walls' own pages and from reporting by Complex, Miami New Times, ARTnews and Hoodline, so we are treating the Rockstar connection as stated by the museum, not confirmed by Rockstar.
What Wynwood Walls Says Is on Offer
The museum's Miami-Dade page sets out the terms plainly. Residents need a valid photo or student ID showing a Miami-Dade County address. They sign up for a free digital membership online or at the Welcome Center, add the card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and show it at the door during opening hours. Children under 12 are always free, members can add family members under 18, and guests from outside the county pay the standard ticket price.
The page also says the partnership adds new murals by artists who are featured in Grand Theft Auto VI, alongside the museum's usual rotating murals and sculptures, indoor exhibitions at the Goldman Global Arts Gallery, a spray-painting experience, and an upcoming artist-in-residence programme.
The free-entry deal is a real shift for the museum. Miami New Times notes that Wynwood Walls has charged for timed-entry tickets since January 2021, so a free pass that runs through 2028 is a multi-year commitment rather than a launch-week stunt.
The Art of Vice City Merch Line
Wynwood Walls has also opened pre-orders for a collection it calls The Art of Vice City, described on its homepage as a VI x Wynwood Walls exclusive featuring original in-game artwork from 15 artists. The museum says the line is available only through Wynwood Walls.
The shop lists the 15 artists by name: Tristan Eaton, Ron English, Queen Andrea, FAILE, Leon Keer, 1010, Typoe, AHOL, Denial, DFACE, Sonni, Gons x Audet, AES, AIKO and FLMINGO. Items run from T-shirts, hoodies, caps and bucket hats to tote bags, water bottles, flasks, keychains, puzzles, beach towels, notebooks and laptop sleeves. Individual pieces are priced from $9.95 for a mouse pad to $50.00 for a cap, and per-artist capsule bundles range from $105.00 to $335.00. Every item was marked Pre-Order when we checked, with no shipping date listed.
What the Reports Add
The outlets covering the deal fill in details the museum's page does not. Hoodline and ARTnews, citing the museum's press release, say ten new murals were commissioned for the game and are set in a Vice City locale called Stockyard that is modelled on Wynwood. Some sit inside the museum and others are spread through the surrounding neighbourhood, and they are due to stay up through January 1, 2027. Hoodline names the muralists as ATOMIK, Tatiana Suarez, Askew One, DENIAL, FAILE, Gons and Audet, Lady AIKO, Queen Andrea, Ron English and Tristan Eaton, with Goldman Global Arts producing and the Detroit agency 1xrun curating further contributions from street and tattoo artists who appear in the game.
Wynwood Walls curator Jessica Goldman Srebnick told ARTnews that Rockstar's "commitment to creativity, supporting the arts, and love of Miami mirrors our own, making them an ideal partner." The museum's Instagram post, quoted by Complex, thanked Rockstar for "their visionary support and shared love of Miami."
Two cautions. Stockyard has not appeared in any Rockstar trailer, screenshot caption or Newswire post we have on file, so for now it is a district name reported by the museum's partners rather than a confirmed part of the map. And the mural count and artist list come from the press release as quoted by outlets, not from a page we could read directly.
Part of a Wider Miami Push
The Wynwood deal lands in the middle of a Miami marketing campaign that Rockstar has still not spoken about publicly. Over the past week outlets have reported wrapped Leonida-plated cars cruising the city, a GTA VI blimp, and a Miami Heat home game on November 18 in which the team plays as Vice City. None of that has been acknowledged by Rockstar either. The museum partnership is the first piece of the campaign with a named partner putting its own name to it in writing, which is why it is worth an article of its own.
What to Watch Next
The obvious next step is a Rockstar post. A Newswire item or an official social post naming Wynwood Walls would move the whole story from reported to confirmed, and would likely settle whether Stockyard is an in-game district. Until then, Miami-Dade residents can take the museum at its word and visit for free, and the rest of us can watch for the first official screenshot of those murals in Leonida.
