Rockstar Games has announced The Kortz Center Heist, a major new heist coming to GTA Online in July 2026 — the game's biggest heist drop in years and the last major content wave before Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on November 19. The studio confirmed the update in a Rockstar Newswire post, with an Independence Day event already live to warm players up.
What Rockstar has confirmed
The Kortz Center Heist is a multi-stage robbery centered on the Kortz Center, the cliffside cultural landmark in Pacific Bluffs that has been part of the Los Santos map since GTA 5 launched in 2013. To take part, players will be able to add a new Art Studio extension to a Mansion property, then scope out the target and plan an approach.
Rockstar has said only that the heist arrives in July 2026, adding it will "share more as we get closer." Exact mechanics and the full feature set will be detailed closer to release.
Independence Day event live now
Running July 2–8, the Independence Day event week is live with bonuses and discounts, including:
- 2x GTA$ and RP on Bunker Research and Bunker Sell missions
- 3x GTA$ and RP on the Stunt Race Series
- Up to 70% off select aircraft, and discounts on Agencies, Hangars and performance vehicles
What's reported but not yet confirmed
Some widely cited details are not yet officially confirmed by Rockstar and should be treated as reporting until the full patch notes land:
- A July 14 release date for the heist (reported by outlets; Rockstar has only said "July")
- Solo or up to four-player co-op, in the style of the Cayo Perico Heist
- Specific GTA$ reward tiers and Art Studio pricing tied to a "Fine Art Collector" prep program
Why it matters
This is Rockstar's send-off for GTA Online before GTA 6 — a headline heist for the community that has kept the game alive for over a decade. If you play GTA Online, the live Independence Day event is a good moment to bank some cash ahead of the heist landing later this month.
